Sarah Palin: Media scrutiny next year? “I just have to be prepared for it and overcome it.” UPDATE//: Ivan Moore in Anchorage Press says “absolutely yes, Sarah will run”

Oh, man, I was just on my way to bed when I saw Sarah-sites overdosing on her Hannity interview.

So I watched it. I figure that since I’m still writing my last chapter, I get paid to stay up late and do such things.

Some of it was (unintentionally) funny, such as:

I think one of my problems in this whole process is I don’t live for that game of the pundincy [sic] of the opining and speculating on who’s doing what …What I live for is fighting for family and faith and freedom in this country.

But I won’t go to sleep smiling over her later words:

I’m still not ready to make an announcement….I’m still seriously considering it and praying about it…I want to make sure that we have a candidate out there with Tea Party principles.

Perhaps scariest of all was Sarah’s Freudian slip at the start.

I realize that the Wasilla Assembly of God  taught Sarah that Sigmund Freud was Sigmund Fraud, and that she’s believed it ever since, but that doesn’t immunize her from what the rest of us might call a Freudian slip.  Speaking of Gingrich’s recent stumble out of the gate, Hannity asked her, in regard to 2012, “Is there going to be a different standard?” Meaning: will candidates be held accountable for their words?  Sarah said:

There’s gotta be the preparation on all the candidates’ parts for those gotchas. That’s what the lamestream media is known for nowadays is the gotcha, trip-up questions, and I just have to be prepared for it and overcome it. (emphasis added.)

Why would someone who did not intend to seek the Republican nomination say “I”?

If she weren’t planning to run–notwithstanding how she makes everything about herself–wouldn’t she have said “they?”

Dr. Fraud, where are you now that we need you?

I, for one, am going to need someone  to interpret the dreams/nightmares I’m about to have as I go to bed with Sarah’s mantra in my head:

“I just have to be prepared for it and overcome it.”

At least she’s got God helping her.    I’m all alone down here, trying to muddle through with nothing more than rationality, a modicum of decency, and whatever I learn from my reporting.

Anybody know a good Jungian shrink?  Because here’s what I’m afraid I’ll be seeing tonight:

UPDATE:

Alaskan pollster Ivan Moore says in Anchorage Press that it’s “Palin’s Perfect Storm.”

Here’s his lede:

Us pollsters don’t like making predictions. No really… we don’t. We can measure things at any given point in time, but we can’t, no matter how much others may want us to, see into the future. Today, however, I’m going to make an exception, because I’m absolutely certain of what I’m going to predict.

No ands, ifs or buts about it, Sarah Palin is going to run for president.

And so to bed.

    You can sleep?

  • Debby:

OMG Joe. That’s exactly what I’m feeling right now. I just read some of those as well and I’m hyperventilating. Well, at least my heart rate has increased for sure. No way am I going to go to bed for awhile…I’d be too afraid of what I’d dream as well.
Maybe I’ll read Mr. Dunn’s book for awhile. Course, that’ll just reinforce the fixation on the nightmare of Sarah Palin.
Thanks for putting into words all of the things I’m feeling and thinking! Guess that’s why your the author and I’m the reader.
    Sweet Dreams.

  • Joe:

Who knows? Gotta try, because I have work to do on the last chapter tomorrow.

Pollster Ivan Moore predicts she WILL run:

“I’m absolutely certain of what I’m going to predict.
No ands, ifs or buts about it, Sarah Palin is going to run for
    president.’

“Sarah Palin is, in my opinion, a clinical narcissist with a grandiose
self-image. Getting it dinged by constant criticism is intolerable to her; it
leads directly to her reputation for vindictiveness, and explains exactly why
    she quit as Alaska’s governor.”

“She got a taste of the sweet nectar of adulation back in 2008 and believe
me, she needs and wants another dose of that and soon. So ramp up the
Sarahmania, people, give her some screaming crowds and the 24-hour news cycle
back. It is what she wants, and there’s one easy way to get it. Run for
    office.”

  • Joanne:

When is Faux News going to put her on probation and terminate her contract as they did to other Republican presidential candidates earlier this year? She admitted in this interview with Hannity that she is seriously considering a run for president and she is waiting to see what other candidates appear. All the free air time she is getting to publicize herself is another crime we should add to her growing list of improper actions. I hope to see her in an orange jumpsuit someday soon! And true to her form, she won’t even pay for the jumpsuit but will charge it to the federal government…. enough already Sarah – please go back to Alaska!

  • sallyngarland,tx:

If Palin doesn’t run, the backlash from her bots may surprise her. They may dish out some of their hatefulness toward her. They are an angry group. (About 10 of them came after me on twitter. I felt like I was dealing with a “mob”. I could envision their pitchforks. Some sound truly dangerous.)

  • sleuth:

she is such a transparent idiot. That border fence to keep her away can’t be built fast enough.

  • Frosty AK:

The inmates have taken over the asylum.

  • Older_Wiser:

She can’t help herself–yes, she’ll run. She can deal with all the male candidates by emasculating them, one by one, but what will she do about Michelle Bachmann, who’s another loon but a tad more legitimate?

The rest of the world, meantime, is laughing its ass off at Republican politics while seriously concerned about the fascism inherent in their policies.

  • Joyce:

If Granny Grifter does run, I predict that she doesn’t last as long as Trump and Gingrich. Once the shit about her starts rolling down hill, her boots will be off the ground and runnin’ into hiding. MSM will be coming up here to Alaska wanting to know even more about her than they already think they know about her and Alaskans will be more than happy to obliged and fill them in with all the true Palin shit that we have been shovelin’ up here for years. So, Go Granny Grifter!!! See how long you last!! Granny Grifter will soon be a has-been in the
    “Whatever-Happened-To” Hall of Shame.

  • barracuda78:

I don’t think she will actually run, she knows there’s way too much garbage in her past and she is highly unfavored, she will get creamed if she makes it that far….I don’t think she will release her financial records, but if she doesn’t throw her hat in the ring, she knows time is running out on so many levels for her to be a screechy voice that some morons might listen to..and give her their money….the money will dry up and so will Sarah Palin.
The guns are being loaded, the cross hairs are in place, should she decide to run, everything will come out and her goose is cooked, no more money for her if she runs for POTUS….

  • BJA:

You know what’s really scary? People will vote for her if she’s the candidate. And in their tiny little minds, they will think she is more capable than Barack Obama.

But, before she ever gets to that point in the general election, she’s going to need to get through the Republican gauntlet. If she didn’t like the ethics investigations, she’s REALLY gonna hate that. The op research teams from other Republican candidates will tear her to shreds.

She didn’t have to go through that last time. She only had to go through the part where she was plucked from Alaska and set loose in expensive clothes. Look back at what Rove did to McCain in South Carolina in 2000. She’s got a few of those coming her way if she competes in the primary. She made enemies in the upper echelons of Republican campaign management. The “lamestream” media will be angelic by comparison.

The Republican Party implosion is better than anything on TV.

  • sjk from the belly of the plane:

she cant run. she wont run. she will get destroyed in the primaries by both parties. popcorn anyone?

  • Oh sure typical male… drop the bomb then run off to bed.

    😛

  • Mary:

Yes, it seems that the situation is ripe for her to step in, but it’s Sarah Palin we’re talking about here. IF she decides to chance it, she’ll fold like a cheap suit after a couple of weeks, tops.

I admit, seeing something like what Ivan Moore has written is not pleasant, but he’s not taking the whole, ridiculous picture of SP into account.

I can sleep. I’m very annoyed still that this wench is in the public eye, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

  • Molly:

Joe, this is off topic but it has been bothering me a lot! I have read Geoffrey Dunn’s book and I thought it was excellent. What is bothering me is the fact that the media seems to be deliberately ignoring the book, it has had
very few reviews (and most of them have been negative) and apparently some book stores are refusing to order it.

I had expected this book to have had more of an impact and I am bitterly disappointed that the media is refusing to even acknowledge it.

  • Molly_WI:

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrgh!!!!!

  • She wants that title really badly. Titles are her thing, no matter how often she denies it. She doesn’t want a job. She wants a title, period. President is the fanciest one she can think of.

  • fromthediagonal:

Older_Wiser @8:40: I agree with your thoughts, especially your last sentence.

By appealing to the lowest common denominator of the politically disenchanted, financially distraught and emotionally disturbed part of the electorate, she will become the Perfect Storm in the next election.
These people are enamored of the principles of religious, paternalistic dictatorships because of the perceived societal order they provide. There are the moneyed corporatists who able, willing and eager to provide that fantasy to all of us.
Little do they understand that the corporatist/fascist state they strive to institute will bring nothing but harm to them and all of us.
We must defend the principles of democracy, no matter how untidy our system. How? I do not know. Help.

  • True Blue Girl:

Good, I hope she runs, because while she’s after the attention and adulation, she’ll be savaged by the operatives in her own party. I predict some truly gnarly news cycles, as she is ripped from her deluded cocoon of control and out into how the game is really played. Look for lots of leaks, much sniping, and ever-increasing criticism on the record. She’ll be humiliated but probably incapable of recognizing the degree to which she has been ridiculed… so she’ll keep ramping up her vindictiveness in ever-increasing spirals of public decompensation. It will be epic, and it will be ugly.

  • fromthediagonal:

    Another thought:

I do not think the established republicans can or will trounce her. If she convinces them that she will run on a Tea Party or other hyper regressive platform, they will hold their noses and embrace her into the fold. This may well be the reason why she is still employed by the Murdoch empire. This is my personal nightmare.

  • Flying Pig Ranch:

It bothers me, also, too…. I am heading for Costco later this morning and there had better be a stack of Lies of SP next to the stack of Breitbart’s latest that a saw on my last visit. I haven’t learned much new from Dunn’s book but it has been a good review of all the reasons why SP should not be elected to anything ever again. She has been running for President ever since the RNC and it was too bad that ol’ Johnny Mccain got in her way.

  • Mary:

Hey Molly – I know how you feel, but a big warning flag was that the only “in praise of” note came from Jeanne Devon. When I saw that, I knew the MSM wouldn’t touch it. Chicken shits that they are.

  • Mary:

Well, I never thought I’d say this, but….. Take heart, there is Michelle Bachmann!

She’s not going to roll over for Mrs. Palin. She is a royal nutjob, but she’s got more experience, more education (on paper, anyway), more Tea Party cred.

  • Tservo:

    Palin will run, full stop.
Watch: Every time she doesn’t want to answer a question, she will label it a ‘gotcha’ one, Her ‘bots will howl, the question will never get answered, and Palin will crow about how she beats down the ‘lamestream media’.
    That’s her strategy.
Tons of tweets later, she will expect to cruise to the GOP nomination.
It’s the season of the witch, she has flying monkeys and Palin expects a win.

Everyone hope with all your heart there isn’t a double dip recession- pols like Palin thrive in times of uncertainty.

  • 2012???:

America wants Palin to run. The media want Palin to run for financial reasons. The public wants her to run for comedic relief. Barack Obama wants her to run because she will rip the Republican party to shreds and then he can ravage her in November. The world wants her to run to see if America would be so stupid to elect this woman to the Presidency, but Palin will not run. Sarah Palin will not run because her life which is already opened will have the doors blown off. Every dirty thing Palin has an hand in would be fair game and Palin knows her skeletons would be sale. Palin gave up her presidential dreams when she walked off the job on July 3, 2009. Don’t think Newt or Santorum won’t remind the electorate of that fact.

  • GG:

I think Willow gave us a preview of what’s to come when she told her peers that “it will get worse”, meaning the attacks will keep coming. This was during her fb rant where she was “sticking up for her family”

Yeah, the whole family’s in on it.

  • Psalm023:

Am glad I had coffee so my brain doesn’t stay on “stun”. Stunned because of hearing that Sarah Palin could possibly run. Yes, last night definitely was a slip of her tongue. I believe she, in her state of mind, thinks she can do anything; she possesses the same inflated self-esteem that she slammed (in America by Heart) the “talent-deprived” American-Idol contestants who are victims of the cult of self-esteem. She was criticizing that some parents teach their kids that hard work isn’t necessary anymore.

She sees everyone else’s faults, gives her opinion on them, but refuses to see she does the exact thing she accuses others of doing.

If she runs, it may be the first in american history that a possibly mentally-challenged person would try.

  • IFallToPizzas:

    Of course she will run.

Her insane delusion that she could be POTUS goes back all the way back to her campaign for mayor in the 1990’s.

During one meeting, her campaign manager Laura Chase told Palin that she could end up being governor in ten years.

Palin then declared “I don’t want to be governor. I want to be President”. This is on page 61 of The Lies of Sarah Palin; The Untold Story Behind Her Relentless Quest for Power, the awesome Geoffrey Dunn book.

Think about it. She has had this aspiration for about 25 years, and she actually made it to VP candidate! (Not that she earned it or deserved it, but still!)

    Why would she stop now?

  • 2emptynest:

The current meme that the Republican party will vilify Sarah Palin if she runs may not be valid. If the Republicans believe that no candidate can beat Obama, they will need a sacrificial lamb and who better that Sarah? Scary.

  • AFM:

There has never been any doubt in my mind she wouldn’t run. Her ego is way to big. She’ll run and lose but not before leaving destruction across this country. She just can’t help the jealous rage of hate against Obama. She will ensure of his reelection. I don’t even think sine republicans would vote for her. Only the cookoo religious right will vote for her. We all must make sure that everyone knows if she has a chance in hell to win that she wants to turn this country into a theocracy. What she did in Wallisa she will do on a grand scale in america and I am sure by the time voting is done she will have been drummed out of any party.

    http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/index.html#/v/4701278/will-palin-jump-into-presidential-race-part-1/?playlist_id=86924

At about the 2:00 mark, I think Palin says “ah/uh” instead of I. (I just have to be prepared for it and overcome it.) Anybody else hear this?

  • grammy11:

Maybe candidates on both sides are waiting to hear she is running before the mess hits the fan. I can hardly wait for the movie series, Game Change, to start on HBO. With so many of her many secrets revealed, who knows what will become of the Queen of Lies?

  • Older_Wiser:

Laura Chase also is quoted in Dunn’s book as stating that Quitler is a “dangerous woman”. I think Chase would know that from her own experience with her.

  • KatzKids:

No surprise here. I’ve been saying she’s going to run ever since she didn’t get to deliver HER speech election night 2008. Her ego won’t allow her to do anything else. Lose the spotlight & have to return to the dead lake in Wasilla? NEVER! She’ll die without her “celebrity.” May she lose it soon.

Thanks for helping the process Joe!

  • Older_Wiser:

I just listened to it twice. She definitely said “I”. Maybe a slip of the tongue, but revealing nonetheless. I think she is maximizing her paychecks from Fux News, and they are allowing it. They know she can also maximize their ratings with this trash and keep her in the public eye. Where else would she get so much exposure which would lead to even more in the “lamestream media”?

  • WakeUpAmerica:

All the while, the Republican clown car goes rollicking along, tossing passengers out the door and into the ditch as the Tundra Turd clings desperately to the rear bumper.

  • Her statement may actually be a poorly formed conditional/subjunctive.

  • akvoter:

Sadly, I repeat SADLY, I agree with Ivan Moore. The idiot will run. It’s not about that “servant’s heart” crap, it’s not about a “candidate with TP principles”, it’s not about the desire to fix America. The vast majority of Alaskans know what make this vermin tick and it’s MEME, it’s I WIN YOU LOSE, it’s “SEE There”! I don’t even know if it’s a power thing. Whatever the hell it is she never gets enough of it. She is, in all reality, an empty vessel, a black hole. OMG I dread what’s ahead for this country. Hang on we’re in for a helluva ride and praying it culminates in the permanent destruction of any political aspirations she may have now or 100 years into the future. We don’t particularly want her back in Alaska but more importantly we don’t want her ANYWHERE near the Oval Office. The thought of that should make all sensible Americans sick with fear.

  • aussiegal77:

    Bloody. Hell.

  • aussiegal77:

I hope her candidacy lasts as long as Newt’s did – 1 week.

  • lilly lily:

I was looking forward to enjoying my summer free of Palin and her whacko delusions of power.

She might run, but she will be gutted by those who realize she is empty of principles. Her hide will be flayed and pinned against a wall. And much as her father likes his taxidermy, Sarah won’t look as pretty on the floor as Chuckies grizzley..

Yet in the end, she is the one destroying herself.

Or Palin’s cult following may well end up destroying her as they turn on her. A nasty and dangerous group.

  • Jewels:

    http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/transcript/sarah-palin-still-seriously-considering-presidential-run

Here’s the transcript from Fox News: That’s what the lamestream media’s known for now a days, it’s the gotcha trip up questions and you just have to be prepared for it and overcome it.

    I – you – uh… which one is it?

  • Sheesh:

I’ll be surprised if she declares this early on as it doesnt appear that she has a campaign staff in place. That said, I DO believe that the GOP frontrunners will have a field day with her if she does. Part of me wants to see her run to get the dirt on her out quickly and dispatch her to the hinterlands. The other half fears that this GOP field is so lame that she may be all they have. If the election were held today Obama would easily win but we don’t know where we’ll be in the next 18 months

  • Jewels:

Here’s Palin on Fox Business last night: http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/949809677001

“People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”
    Just sayin’… http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.a/6a00d8341c630a53ef012875b023f0970c-600wi

  • Melly:

Ugh on Moore. Me couldn’t get past “Us pollsters…”

  • Sheesh:

    Great visual!

  • 2012???:

Well, come 2012 Palin may finally be able to give that concession speech she wanted to give in 2008.

  • Anja:

I’m not preparing for Armageddon, I’m preparing for “Sarahgeddon”.

Mark my words, this is going to be the ugliest, most bigoted, nastiest presidential campaign in history. All courtesy of Fox News, Twitter & Facebook.

I hope the people of the US stand up and not let her get away with this. It is out of control.

  • jk:

It it possible she can run for the GOP nomination via twitter and facebook and fox news? I don’t think the rest of the contenders or the other media outlets will let her win that way. The incredibly thin shine is off the stinky rose.

I do think she’ll run, but as a 3rd party candidate. And we’ll never see a three-way debate between Obama, Romney (or whomever the GOP throws in), and Palin. It won’t happen.

  • Jessica Clemons:

Not all Christians are as nuts as the mouth breathing palinistas. LOL! I’m a Christian and I don’t want the country to be a theocracy (really bad idea on so many levels). I’m a progressive so I guess the religious right would say I’m not really a Christian anyway.

  • SusanC:

How can she debate any of the other Republican candidates, let alone Obama? She can’t talk. The woman cannot utter a single comprehensible sentence.

I find it very interesting that she’s advising the other possible G.O.P. contenders to “avoid the lamestream media” and rely, as she does, on Facebook and Twitter.

  • jcinco:

she’s unelectable. anyone can bring up “w” and that he won but he is a member of a political dynasty, not so with the 1/2 term 1/2 wit. I think we need to quit playing the fear card and acting as if palin is a viable candidate.I have in-laws from western ny that are such hard core repugnants they wanted carl paladino as gov, they wouldn’t consider voting for palin. jmho.

  • mary b:

    fromthediagonal:

The only thing we can do is to get as much information to the public as possible. We cannot let up. We HAVE no choice but to try to educate everyone we come across!!
Then, we work as hard as we possibly can to GET OUT THE VOTE!!! We must get as many people to the polls as possible!! We already know the Diebold Voting Machines are rigged in many swing states. That’s a good enough reason to Get Out the Vote!! With $arah on the Ticket, it’s even more pressing!
You can go to OrganizingforAmerica.org to sign up with helping to get out the vote. You can donate as much or as little time as you want. There is plenty of work to be done. We can never, ever be too confident that President Obama will win re-election as easily as we think he will. The closer it gets to election day, the more help we’ll need at OfA.
You’ll also benefit by meeting a lot of fun, like minded people in your community! I live in a very RED State after having been born and raised in one of the Bluest States there is!! I’ve lived here over 15 yrs and had never met a like minded soul the entire time. Until I joined OfA. What a wonderful time I had while doing something that helped to save our Country!!
You can check out their website and think about whether you want to get involved or not. I hope you decide to do so. There are no demands put on you. You work when you want to work. And they are all such great, intelligent people!!
    Good Luck!!

  • mary b:

Not only will the skeletons from her personal life be dragged through the mud, but her governing was all a bunch of B.S.!
They won’t even have to pull the skeletons out. Just show her records of City Council, Mayor and Quitter Queen Governor. They all speak for themselves. $he can try to spin her records any way she likes, but the truth is documented.

  • mo:

Yeah, more fun than watching Jezebel get tossed from the window and savaged by street dogs. Ugh.

  • Lisabeth:

YES, and once she has it, and has tried it for awhile and sees how much work it is, she will quit.

Who on earth would be insane enough to be her running mate ? Talk about career suicide. I also think she will have trouble putting together a really serious, talented team at this point. After what happened with the McCain people, many won’t work with her. She will get some young Christian devotees, but they won’t be able to compete with the hardcore teams Romney or some others might have.

Any bets on whether she will attack Romney’s religion if she runs ? Like she did to Stein in Wasilla, only then it was a big whopping lie?

  • I having been watching the ongoing Palin drama from the sideslines up here in Canada. Although I might be proven wrong, I’m still going to stick to my initial forecast and say she won’t run. How could she? She thinks the scrutiny of her life and family is bad now, does she know it will only get worse once she throws herself into the ring? And she’s willing to risk that none of her skeletons come out of her closet? Hard to believe.

God help my neighbourly USA if she runs – what an embarassment to your lovely nation. I am still completely bewildered that a fraction of the American population believes this woman has value. And I remain astonished as to how the American MSM gives her the time of day in print, and on the airwaves.

The one positive aspect of her running? It’s going to be a slam dunk for Obama if she gets that far (which she won’t).

  • AFM:

Well your right about that. The religious cookoos would say your not christain because your to liberal in your thinking. I feel am a christain but to me the republicans made it a bad word. You see like you we would be considered bleeding hearts christians because we believe the real way Jesus expected us to treat each other.

  • AFM:

Reading Mr Dunn’s book I honestly can’t see why she would put herself in that position. She went nuts during the last election. Yet I know she will run because her ego is wayyyyyyyy to big.

  • crystalwolfakacaligrl:

I just got a robo call from a RWNJ spewing anti-obama hate…after it ended…a AA man can on the line and asked me who in the “Republican” party represented my Conservative principals? I said none of them, he asked are you Rep or Dem I said neither…was waiting for the mention of Lou Sarah’s name, but he just thanked me for me time…
If she runs it will have to be CP or some other third party. The R’s want no part of her. Rove will have to take her out.
Do you think its a coinkydink that Business Insider have started running things about Babygate? There will be more leaks…She is training her cult not to listen to anything but HER. They hate BOR now. He knows she’s a fraud and a bimbo.
Everyone with a brain knows that. Everything pertaining to her Governorship needs to be investigated! EVERYTHING! She is still using the SOA to attack bloggers she doesn’t like. She is still GINO. The FEDS need to go up there and clean house, Big time. The people of AK deserve to have honest people working for them not corrupt bastards!

  • Sarah HalfTime:

Well Alaska’s Shame will run, cause, you know, it comes down to adulation.
Chances are the kids and Toad will need to see the adulation as well.

Alaska’s Shame will become America’s Shame.
    Which is fine by me.

The primary debates will be political comedy, cause It That Quit can’t think on her feet. The skank has a huge deer-in-headlights problem when it comes to answering simple questions. Getting all cutie like won’t work anymore. She will have to show SOME brain power.

  • Reality Check:

Ivan Moore’s premise that she will run is that it’s clear now she can lock up the Republican nomination.

    No, it isn’t.

I guarantee you that even the Tea Partiers…Palin’s core constituency…will end up panicking and vote for Romney or some other safe candidate once they’re actually in the voting booth.

They hate Obama more than they love Sarah Palin. And they know she can’t win the general election.

  • zenna:

Remember, with Palin it’s all about the money.

She loves to ‘milk it’ and string along her sycophants so they continue to open up their wallets and hand over their money to her and her PAC.

The clock is winding down on Palin. Her negative numbers are massive. And with more critical books and email releases ahead it won’t get better for her. She’s toxic.

Palin is trying to bring in as much money as she can before the door closes on her.

  • LisaB:

*crosses fingers* Here’s hoping the Anchorage Press has some super powerful “ojo.”

  • Mrs Gunka:

    We’ve been screwed.

  • ibwilliamsi:

She doesn’t live for “pundincy”. She lives for “pungency”.

  • John:

I don’t see a traditional candidacy. I see a third-party run outside the GOP structure. At least she doesn’t quite have the rescources of a Ross Perot. Some day this will all make a great opera and a mildly entertaining Oliver Stone film.

  • She’s running. When she will announce is harder to predict than I thought it would be.

  • Ailsa:

I only venture over to *we’ll walk on broken glass for Sarah* sites when I’m feeling upbeat. That way I find them funny. Right now, I kid you not, they’re picking her VP! My particular favorite is Jeb Bush.

I’ve never been a fan of Barbara Bush, but the images crossing my mind are just too delicious. 😀

  • lilly lily:

The woman who is God in her pronouncements is beginning to pay closer attention to her clothing choices. She is running. Her bots are ecstatic.

What’s with all the books in the background/ A complete set of Encylopedias? We know she only reads Celebrity mags and rags. She must have bought books by the yard from a decorator.

I see she has made a mealy mouthed comment about her fellow Governator, Arnold ,the father of our cournty.

At least he does seem to care for, and provide for his offspring. Another 7 day scandal.

Hers will last a lot longer.

  • Ailsa:

Reasons she will not run, like skeletons in her closet, knowing she’s out of her depth etc., are based on the presumption that she has a capacity for rational thought and an ability to reason, which I doubt.

She has wanted to be POTUS for 25 years. It seems unlikely she will rethink that desire as rethinking suggests she could think in the first place.

  • Joe:

Phil–I just had a conversation with a reasonably astute and informed person who suggested that she’s planning to announce on the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Keep an eye on her late summer schedule.

    –Joe

  • avasmom:

Ok, fine. She will run. Then we have no choice but to run our own campaign against her, right? This is a dangerous, unhinged woman. No way will I look at this election as a “game” or “reality show” for America to laugh and enjoy. It’s a serious matter. People thought Hitler would never get as far as he did. But he did. Don’t underestimate people with no moral compass.

  • Reality Check:

by the way, I listened to that interview and it didn’t sound to me like she said “I” just have to be prepared for it. Think you should re-play it.

  • Enjay in E MT:

I’m one that believes she won’t run – that she’ll play it out for the bucks but won’t actually “formally file”
She can’t beat her arch-enemy President Obama, can’t win without the Independents, won’t face the MSM, and cannot run a viable campaign from Facebook, Twitter or Faux. She’s made too many polarizing statements to even attempt to pass a “moderate position”. And I don’t believe her family will allow themselves to be stage props for the next 18 months (Piper & Trig maybe – Track & Bristol already bailed)

However, I have been wrong in the past, so bring it on Sarah!

  • gypsyrose:

    Joe,
Should she announce on the tenth anniversary of 9.11 won’t that backfire for her? President Obama got bin laden so to some degree won’t 9.11 remind everyone of the President’s accomplishment? I know she is mentally unbalanced and cannot see beyond herself but this seems like it could work in our favor…….maybe the celebration over the killing of bin laden (yes, I know, a dilemma to celebrate killing) will drown out her announcement? Whatcha think Joe:)

p.s. on another note, I find it so fascinating that women-very sweet, calm, intelligent, gorgeous, non violent women get simply raging and violently INSANE at the thought of sarah palin, including myself. Fascinating because the reactions from women are so much more heightened and extreme than those from men………….hmmmm?

  • carollt:

No doubt she is running. In an earlier comment to another one of your fine postings, I suggested she would find a reason not to go on Meet the Press. Well, what do you know, Sarah comes out of the gate calling David Gregory a racist. David Gregory is not my favorite, but the man is certainly not a racist.

I hear that Newt is going on Face the Nation this Sunday. Look for Sarah to find something wrong with Bob Schieffer (who is my favorite now that we have lost Tim Russert).

Sarah will say something like I won’t get the Newt treatment and refuse to go on any Sunday show save Fox News. But speaking of Fox News, the last time I saw Sarah on Bill O’Reilly’s show, she was rather short with him; it was obvious she did not like his questions. She told him not to interupt her in an attempt to hold his questions at bay. Bill was having none of it; I think he sees Sarah as the Charlatan that she is. And though I am not sure of this, I don’t think she has ever appeared on O’Reilly’s show again. I think I will watch O’Reilly if the Queen ever blesses him with an appearance again. Somehow I don’t think O’Reilly will be in the mood to kiss the ring, if you will.

  • KatieAnnieOakley:

She will announce on 9/11 to steal Obama’s thunder…

  • Mxm:

I was kind of thinking that she would wait until your book came out, just in case.

  • Jame Doe Seeker:

The republican party is in such dire straits this time that I don’t think they will want a one-candidate-against-another mud-slinging scenario. In fact, they, too, may well prefer a coronation simply for the sake of the strength and unity such an even would entail. She is now their most popular candidate, and may well be easily anointed when all is said and done. And if that happens (and even if it doesn’t), all republicans will back her. Obama’s base may not turn out, there may be voter suppression on a vast magnitude, and/or the democratic vote may get ‘lost’ due to Diebold. I think the republican party is playing for keeps, and is not willing to accept another loss this time around, and I’m not counting anything out.

  • CDNpotpourri:

Tragic as it may be, what better way for her to garner attention than to announce she’s running on 9/11. There will be nothing better for Palin than skewering President Obama when he’ll be at Ground Zero this coming September to commemorate that tradegy as well as the demise of bin Laden. She can’t take it that he’ll be up front and center (as he should be), so why not crash the party, so to speak. Her jealousy is predictable.

However, choosing the 9/11 anniversary will backfire on her pathetic soul – just like her “blood-libel” response on the Tucson shooting. She shall be lambasted, and with good reason. Let’s hope the Mainstream Media doesn’t give her the time of day, but instead, concentrate on the numerous memorials that will surely be organized throughout the country.

  • BanditBasheert:

I agree. She will run. (She may very well quit/drop out in a few months, but she is severely mentally ill and sociopaths are not able to control impulses.

Being a megalomaniac, she will see herself as the “only” viable candidate but she will crash and burn as soon as she leaves her manic phase and goes depressive. Add to that her disabling paranoia and this Fruit Loop will be toast within 4 months.

You need to look at it from Palin’s perspective – she is a very ill woman – she believes that is her job. She cannot NOT run.

  • Lidia17:

    She’s used that date before:
When did Track get deployed? 9/11, of course.

(I can’t believe it was a coincidence that the ceremony in Fairbanks was held on that date, giving Palin such a tasty platform.)
    http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20225153,00.html

When was Track supposed to come home? 9/11!!
    or almost 9/11, anyway…

    America by Heart:
    —-
Then, on September 11, 2009, he as scheduled to return home. Like all military families, his sisters, his baby brother, Todd, and I were overjoyed that Track is coming home safe. But at the last second, the family of one of the other members of the Stryker Brigade had a medical scare. Track’s fellow soldier had to get home fast, and there were no extra seats on the transport. So Track, God bless him, gave up his seat. He had to stay an additional month in the heat and sand and danger of Iraq for another available flight home. At first, he didn’t want to tell us about the reason for his delay. He still doesn’t like to talk about it, much less have his mom crow about it in print. But then I finally heard the story of what he did for his fellow soldier, I think I was prouder of my son than I had ever been before.

Now, the Washington Times reported that Track was scheduled to come home on September 19/20:
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/18/palin-gingrich-skip-values-event/

And he got a speeding ticket on 10/2:

Whether Sarah’s story is 100% BS or only 90% BS I’ll leave up to you all.

Note that the sentence she uses, above, with the date in it, is unfinished. “Statement analysis” would tell us to look for something hinky there.

Now, whether this last bit is for real or not, I haven’t had the time to research, but there are hundreds of web sites out there claiming that Track JOINED the Army… WHEN?
    ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2007!!
    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2070628/posts

So yeah, put me down in the pool for 9/11. 😉

  • Karen:

    @True Grit Girl,
Love this: “She’ll be humiliated but probably incapable of recognizing the degree to which she has been ridiculed… so she’ll keep ramping up her vindictiveness in ever-increasing spirals of public decompensation. It will be epic, and it will be ugly.”

Do you have your own blog?

  • jlarue:

Ha! I am also a progressive Christian and hence a “fake” Christian by the standards of Palin and friends. Yes, she will run……she is a toxic blend of ignorance and arrogance.
